Safe, Quality, 100% Recyclable Plastic Packaging

Safe, Quality, 100% Recyclable Plastic Packaging

Here at Eatmore Sprouts & Greens Ltd., one of the most common questions we get, is about our packaging.

Why plastic?

We aim to store our products in packaging that is designed to uphold the safety and quality of the sprouts, that complies with Federal and Provincial laws and regulations, and that minimizes our impact on the planet. So, we use PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) packaging. A safe, lightweight, and flexible plastic material that is 100% recyclable. The PET we use is from a recyclable source, a post-consumer recycled PET, or PCR PET.

We are also a Steward of the Recycle BC program – a 100% Steward funded, not-for-profit organization responsible for the recycling of packaging and paper products. As Stewards, we are financially responsible for every single package that enters a residential home. So, we have an excellent understanding of how many of our packages are out there!

While we may use plastic for our packaging, by using only PET materials and being Stewards of the Recycle BC program, we are able to keep our products and customers safe while complying with regulations and minimizing our impact on the planet.

In the meantime, we continue to work with industry members to look for alternatives to plastic made from petroleum products that are compostable and uphold our needs.

So, while we continue to work on improving our packaging, please, take the summer to try our products. With the current heat, we recommend our Pea Shoots, in the Spring Pea Salad with Shoots and Mint Light and refreshing.
