Food Safety System

Food safety is integrated into every stage of production—from seed sourcing to final delivery.

Seed sourcing & verification

We source only certified organic seed from approved suppliers. Every incoming lot is inspected and tested through accredited third-party laboratories before use. Seeds are tested for Salmonella, E. coli (including O157:H7) , STEC, and Listeria. Only approved seed enters production.

Production controls

All seeds undergo a controlled sanitation process using food-safe, organically approved methods prior to sprouting. Strict hygiene and handling protocols are maintained throughout production.

In-process & final testing

All sprout batches are tested using spent irrigation water and product sampling methods. We test for Top 7 STEC including E. coli O157:H7, Salmonella, and Listeria. We operate a hold-and-release system, meaning no product is released for consumers until all safety test results are cleared.

Water quality monitoring

Our water systems are regularly tested in partnership with the Vancouver Island Health Authority (VIHA) to ensure compliance with potable water standards.

Team training & hygiene

All employees receive ongoing training in all aspects of our preventative control program and specific training relevant to each work area.
